I've had the Troy Lee Designs Speed Pro knee guards on my bike for a few weeks now, and I've put them through their paces on some of the toughest trails in the area. The first thing that struck me was the comfort level - these knee guards are incredibly light and don't feel like they're weighing me down at all, even on long rides. The fit is also spot on, with a snug but not constricting feel that allows me to move freely on the bike.
In terms of performance, the Speed Pros have been a revelation. They've taken a bit of getting used to, as the lack of padding makes them feel almost too light, but once I adjusted to the feel, I was able to ride with confidence. The protection they offer is excellent, absorbing impacts with ease and keeping my knees safe from scrapes and bruises. However, I have to say that they don't tick - which is a bit of a letdown, as I've grown accustomed to the added security of a ticking knee guard.
